Mū was inspired by Harold Pinter's play, A Slight Ache. I was fascinated about how mild paranoia can be a symptom of emotional unrest and how, under "safe" circumstances, this emotional unrest can be exorcised out.

CommentsKūpe‘e was inspired by events that happened during my days in high school. It is a commentary on the ongoing struggle for Hawaiian identity in a world where identity is still defined by imperialistic values. Kūpe‘e won the 2018 Kumu Kahua/UH Manoa playwriting contest. Categories |
